“My partner and I sought the help of Wendy Trotter after purchasing a completely unfurnished four bedroom, three bath vacation home in Healdsburg, the heart of Sonoma Wine country. Wendy was amazing! She first helped with wall color selection and produced a "color board" mapping out all the colors by room of our new house. This color board was very useful in soliciting painting bids and helping select the painters. Next, she provided detailed list of all household items, making our shopping excursions super efficient and complete. Her level of detail here was impressive. This plan included a theme for each bedroom.

We next turned our attention to the fun stuff - the furnishings. Wendy laid out a vision based on the sizing and use of each room. She worked up a detailed layout including maximum dimensions on each item (couches, chairs, tables, beds, etc.) She helped with furniture and fabric selection but worked closely with my partner and I to ensure she captured our style preferences. I should mention, my partner and I were not always in sync. She was brilliant at managing our very different and sometimes completely opposing styles. Wendy masterfully came up with things we both loved! She is very hands on, listens well, takes in our input while importantly ensuring everything works and works well together. Wendy would not allow us to go off the rails with one off items. Each piece was intentional and an important part of the overall look we dreamed of. We love our home! It is so comfortable, beautiful and us. Thank you Trotter Studios!"

“I have worked with Wendy on several projects over the years, and she is awesome! Most recently, Wendy helped me with two projects - both of which were quite successful.

First, she helped me stage my home in San Francisco for sale using my own furnishing and only adding a few minor accessories. She was very practical about what should go, what could stay, what needed to be repaired/replaced, and how to move things around to make it look great - my home sold well above asking, thanks to Wendy's great advice.

Second, Wendy helped me with furnishing a new place that was much larger than my old place and had a completely different design style. Wendy listened to my ideas, likes, and dislikes and came up with a complete design plan, furniture, and accessory suggestions and then helped me tweak the plan to fit my preferences and budget. She even created an awesome deck with each room laid out and a purchasing list so I could track the items I needed to acquire.”

I cannot recommend Wendy highly enough - whether for staging or major or minor design services - she is a pro.

“I knew instantly I was in good hands the moment Wendy stepped in. She strikes a balance between decisiveness and flexibility, honing in on your style preferences (and budget!) even if you find it hard to articulate what you like. I felt like I was seeing my place of four years for the first time and actual changes hadn’t even begun yet.”

“Her ideas for our home are practical and functional, and she has a terrific sense of how to bring some style into our working home. We are two working parents with a toddler. So, we need a home that isn’t just pretty, it needs to be functional and organized. I highly recommend Wendy if you’re designing for life, or designing to sell. Oh! And in addition to being smart and creative, she is (a rarity!) on time for appointments.”

“Our space is essentially a large rectangle with a non-enclosed den in the back. Wendy’s design not only spelled out the functionality of each portion of the loft well but also made the entire space much brighter and airier.”

“I didn’t have an unlimited budget so she helped me use items I already had in new and interesting ways (something I would never think of). Also, she helped me decide on what items to invest in that could be utilized over a long period of time. I will be using her in the future as she was easy to work with and always had amazing ideas!”

“I moved into a new place and had Wendy come do a consultation before I made any big furniture or layout decisions She helped me to see possibilities for my space I hadn’t before and most importantly helped me to prioritize what parts of my space to work on first. Having those priorities has made building our cozy, usable livable home so much more manageable. It’s still a work in progress, but one I’m super happy with.”

“I hired Trotter Studios to help me arrange the flow of my recently opened art gallery in Portland, Oregon. Wendy was a revelation! She took my existing furniture, displays, and artwork and created vignettes that are experiential, leading my clients to want to touch and ultimately take home pieces. Wendy had a keen understanding of workspace flow, with the customer and my business needs and comfort in mind.”

“Wendy is incredibly talented. She has an amazing eye for interior design and helped me with every room in my 4-bedroom house. She’s great with working with what you have and adding key pieces or editing as necessary. Color is also a strong suit of hers. She is realistic with costs and works within set parameters and does amazing things with not much dough. Can’t recommend her more highly.”

“Wendy is a true problem solver with a discerning eye for detail. For my design consultation, she far exceeded my expectations with her outside-the-box thinking, her ability to listen to my half-baked ideas (and then reinterpret them into space-saving solutions), and her skill at making improvements feel digestible and actionable.”
