As June moves along and pulls us into summer, the flowers of Spring are thriving! And while the warmer, nicer weather has us spending more time outside, it is nice to bring a bit of the outside in with plants! Recently, I have been getting some great plant inspiration from a couple of fun books about designing with plants—take a look!

Decorating with Plants, Baylor Chapman

In Decorating With Plants, Baylor starts off by giving a great plant-by-plant overview which covers all the basics for each plant type. I learned so much about each type of plant and it helped me narrow down what I want for my own house. Her overview on how to care for plants really made me feel like I might actually be able to keep one of these things alive!

Then she walks you through, room-by-room, outlining great plant selections for each space.

Bright, crisp pics on practically every page, make this book a really fun source of inspiration.

You can also check out Baylor’s first book, The Plant Recipe.

Urban Jungle, Igor Josifovic and Judith De Graaff

The Urban Jungle is chock full of all kinds of great information about plants and how to use them in styling your interiors. Most of the images show plants in beautiful, urban eclectic interiors.

Peppered throughout the book are tips, tricks, cool ideas, styling tips, and other great info. There are even some great DIY’s like the one about how to make a cool plant stand out of wood and copper.

Overall, some lush styling ideas and images but, in more bohemian settings.

Wonderplants 2, Irene Schampaert and Judith Baehner

Wonderplants 2 is a fab inspirational plant styling book. The settings are international, urban and fantastic. The book is really thoughtful in its selection of homes around the world and how greenery enhances their interiors. The spaces themselves feel special but, the addition of big, statement plants shows how the rooms can become remarkable.

I found inspiration in the both the international interiors as much as how they used plants in each home. And there is plenty of information about plant care and how to make the right plant selection.
